With his appointment as the new Partido Demokratikong Pilipino (PDP) President of Zamboanga City Council, Congressman Celso Lobregat now starts preparing in strengthening the said administration party here in our city.

Just like the national party affiliations, the local PDP party here, Lobregat said is also a coalition of all existing political parties which forms a solid composition in their political bid for 2019 elections.

In an interview with a local radio station, Congressman Lobregat said that he is directed to mobilize his leadership in his jurisdiction to accomplish the tasks given him by the PDP National Council.

“As the Council President of Zamboanga City, I am tasked to exercise the powers and perform the duties and functions attached to the position. Start preparation for the 2019 elections and Execute and implement all Party directives and programs within its jurisdiction the Executive Committee shall order and entrust to me as the local chairman,” Lobregat said.

Since President Rodrigo Duterte is very determined in attaining the super majority ruling party in the entire country, Lobregat is in line with this objective by way of mobilizing the local PDP arm into the barangay level as well.

“I have to pursue local programs to institutionalize the major party platforms to fight drugs, corruption, criminality and terrorism and the fulfillment of all these tasks in line with the party principle of Consultative and Participatory Democracy,” Lobregat said.

Lobregat said that strengthening the existing and growing membership of the Party here as well as executing all Party directives and programs within his jurisdiction are his present priorities as mandated by the ruling administration party in the country today.

In Zamboanga City, he said that they have a sizable number of PDP Party members at present who has taken oath and have signified their intent to support the Duterte administration under one strength, one force, for one Mindanao. – Dexter Yap
