A total of 9,400 senior high school grade 12 students  comprise the first batch to graduate in Zamboanga city from March to April this year.

Felix Romy Triambulo, Schools Division Officer in Charge, said that 3,550 are expected to graduate from public schools while 5,949 will graduate from private schools.

Of this number, thirty eight (38) percent took Technical Vocational Livelihood, twenty six percent took General Academic Strand,  nineteen percent took Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), eight percent took Accountancy, Business and Management and another eight percent took Social Sciences and the Humanities.

The graduates will now have the option to go to college, open their own businesses or work.

The DepEd Division of Zamboanga City is composed of Labuan district, Ayala, Sta Maria, Baliwasan, Central, Vitali, Curuan, Manicahan, Mercedes, Putik, Talon Talon, and Tetuan. The city have 172 public elementary schools and 40 public high schools. Of these 40 public high schools 37 are offering senior high school. (R.G. A A. Go)
