An Ipil municipality murder suspect engaged Zamboanga city lawmen in a shoot out during the service of a warrant of arrest in Sitio Daap, Sangali last Tuesday.

Police identified the suspect as Rasam Gampal y Undang, 49, married of Sitio Aplaya, Sangali.

Gampal was arrested on the strength of a warrant for murder, frustrated homicide and frustrated parricide.

The warrants of arrest were issued by Judge Anthony D.T. Isaw, CPA, of the Regional Trial Court branch 24, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Police also confiscated from his possession six sachets of shabu, one magazine of a .45 caliber pistol with four bullets and two motorized pumpboats.

DZT gathered that Gampal opened fire on the lawmen while they were approaching the area to serve his warrants of arrest.

Gampal was arrested by combined operatives of the Sangali Police Station, units from the Police Regional Office and Ipil Municipal Police Station.

Meanwhile, Madison Tamse y Kontong, 63, married of Baliwasan Seaside, was arrested by men of the Central Police Station last Tuesday morning.

Tamse has a pending warrant of arrest for rape with case number 37585 with no bail bond recommended.

The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Peter Eisma of the Regional Trial Court branch 15 dated January 22, 2018.
