Armed men stormed a public elementary school and abducted a  teacher  in front of horrified co-teachers and frightened  school children  in Patikul, Sulu yesterday morning.

A Western Mindanao Command (WESMINCOM)  report identified the teacher as Marjorie Abdul, 54 years old, and a head teacher of the Liang Elementary School in Patikul Sulu.

The report said that eight (8) armed men went inside the school and abducted Abdul during class hours.

Sources in Jolo said that the victim was abducted during flag ceremony.

The suspects also escaped bringing with them a Honda XRM of another teacher.

The Western Mindanao Command condemned the latest kidnapping incident involving Abdul.

“Rest assured that we will sustain our operations in coordination with law enforcement agencies,” the statement said.

Pursuit operations have been launched by operating units under Joint Task Force Sulu. (Ely Dumaboc)
