A head teacher of an elementary school in Sulu was released by her abductors hours after she was kidnapped inside the school last Thursday.

A police report said that Marjorie Abdul, 58 years old, was freed by her Abu Sayyaf abductors  in Patikul at around 11p.m. last Thursday night after the victim's family paid an unspecified amount to her abductors.

Sources in Sulu said that the Abdul family paid P100,000 in ransom for Abdul's release.

Abdul, a head teacher of the Liang Elementary School in Patikul, was snatched by the bandits inside the school premises last Thursday morning.

Police said that Abdul is not the only teacher abducted by the Abu Sayyaf in Sulu.

Last March 8, another teacher of the Matatal Elementary School in Maimbung, Sulu identified as Doris Hamsirani was said to have been abducted by the Abu Sayyaf.  (Ely Dumaboc)
