Relax, Reflect and Remember the passion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ this Season of lent, is the humble message of Congressman Celso L. Lobregat this season where all pilgrims are expected to flock towards the various religious and retreat sites in the city.

The Season of Lent is highly observed in our city especially this entire Holy Week where Catholic faithful and even those coming Protestant denominations are expected to be busy in all religious activities.

He said that doing the traditional ‘Visita Iglesia’, doing penance, repentance of sins, alms-giving and self-denial accompanied by strong prayers would truly nurture our Christianity this very moment.

Since the constituents have their respective traditions in observing this season, Congressman Lobregat is asking the local populace to also help pray for peace in our city as well as to protect it from all types of unlawful threats posted by the enemies of the state.

“This Season of Lent is very important because it is the time when we remember Christ’s passion, death and resurrection. It recalls His defeat of sin and death and gives us the promise of hope and eternal life, so we should dwell in it and also pray for the safety of our city as well,” Lobregat said

The solon is also asking police and military authorities here as well as those force multipliers, who volunteered to help in securing the places of worships here, to be always on heightened alert, especially in Abong-Abong Park which is the center of activities this week as thousands of Catholic devotees are expected to flock to the park for their Lenten devotions.

Lobregat, likewise, is also calling on the public to be aware and suspicious of their surroundings and immediately inform the nearby authorities for any suspicious baggage or persons they would notice around them to deter unlawful plans of the bad elements.

The congressman said that since the House of Representatives in now on break for the Holy Week, he would also find time to spend this moment with his family and take a break from his hectic duties and functions as a public servant - Dexter Yap
