A total of 116 motorcyclists were apprehended by the police for not wearing crash helmet for the period of August 22 to 31, 2011.

An accomplishment report submitted by City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo to Mayor Celso Lobregat showed that  38 others were held for various traffic violations aside from the 116 for not wearing crash helmet.

A total of 23 drivers were held for loading passengers on prohibited zones, five for modified muffler, three for improper display of plates and seven for no plate, no travel policy.

Twenty five vehicles were impounded and the drivers were issued TOP and citation tickets. Thrree remain in police custody for proper disposition.

De Ocampo said the accomplishment report is part of the continuous campaign against violators of traffic and road laws such as city ordinance 248 and Republic Act 4136.

He said they will continue the campaign and will apprehend anybody regardless of his profession or status including men in uniform, government employees or civilians.
