The Regional Maritime Unit-9 intercepted four motorized pumpboats for various violations during their series of seaborne operations in Zamboanga Peninsula over the weekend.

Supt. Jacob G. Macabali, RMU-9 Chief, said that the 903rd Maritime Police Station based in Pagadian city intercepted three boats along the Dumalinao coastline.

The three boats were said to lack markings indicating that they were not registered.

“Kailangan kasi ngayon i-register ang mga pumpboats below 30 tonnage sa Maritime Station at Agriculture Office in the province,” said Macabali.

He added that they are conducting continuous operations to weed out unregistered vessels in the area.

Meanwhile, 905th Maritime Police Station troopers based in Isabela city also intercepted a motorized pumpboat reportedly engaged in illegal quarrying activities along the Isabela channel.
