The Regional Highway Patrol Unit-9 intercepted a suspected carnapped vehicle along Nuñez Extension last Sunday.

Sr. Inspector Mervin S. Claret, RHPU-9 Chief,  said that HPU-9 patrollers flagged down a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage after the latter observed that the car lacked a 2018 LTO sticker.

The driver, identified as Jun Langa, presented two identification cards but failed to present proof of ownership of the vehicle.

Langa instead told HPG troopers that he bought the car from a certain Nassir W. Jamil for P300,000.

Troopers later found out from the Motor Vehicle Infomation Management System that the vehicle had been placed on Hold Order since April 23, 2016.

Accordingly, the vehicle had been forcibly taken by unidentified men from a certain Aldwin Clemente, the vehicle owner.

The suspected carnappers pointed a gun at Clemente at the latter’s residence in Pulilan, Bulacan and forcibly took the vehicle.

The incident was reported thereafter to the HPG office in Bulacan.

HPG-9 troopers impounded the vehicle at the RHPU-9 headquarters in Camp Batalla for macro-etching examination to be conducted by the Crime Laboratory Office-9.  (Allen Abastillas)
