Only one detainee remains at large as police continue manhunt operations to recapture sixteen escapees who bolted the Tetuan Police Station detention cell last Tuesday.

Zamboanga City Police Office Chief Sr. Supt Neri Vincent Ignacio ordered the relief of Tetuan Station Commander P/Supt. Hadjiri Langgal and all PNP personnel who were on duty during the time of the jailbreak incident.

The police personnel were placed under the Zamboanga City Police Office Holding Unit pending the results of an investigation into the incident.

As of Tuesday afternoon, a total of thirteen out of sixteen escapees were recaptured by police

A Police Regional Office-9 report yesterday said that two out of the three remaining detainees are now in the custody of the police.

Nadzhar Hack y Basaluddin surrendered to Langgal at Kasalamatan, Kasanyangan shortly before midnight last Tuesday.

Another detainee, identified as Ibrahim Adzmir y Ayang was recaptured an hour later by personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station 4 at Landang Gua island.

An escapee, identified as Sulayman Sali, remains at large.

Continuous manhunt operations are still being conducted for Sali’s recapture.  (Remus Ong)
