Congressman Celso Lobregat is appealing to candidates who are aspiring to become Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials to strictly follow the new guidelines being issued by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for candidates.

This appeal was made by the solon upon the issuance of COMELEC Resolution 10294 signed by Acting Commissioner Al Parreño and other members of the Commission last April 11.

Lobregat said that it is very important that the new guidelines be followed in order to have a clean and orderly Barangay and SK election here in the city.

"The barangay is the first level of local governance before the LGU, it must have an established and organized leadership which is ready to respond and serve the people at all times," Lobregat said.

As of today, the City Election Office registered more than 800 aspirants for Barangay and SK positions who already filed their Certificate of Candidacy (COC). (Dexter Yap)
