The City Health Office (CHO) has ordered the temporary closure of a well-patronized bakery in Zamboanga City yesterday morning for reported unsanitary practices.

Dr. Dulce Miravite, CHO Officer in Charge, said that they acted after they saw a post on social media showing a rat inside the bread container of  Master’s Bakery.

“Tiene sila lapses na sanitation (referring to the bakery) ya dale kita sanitary order to be complied with immediately.  Temporarily closed sila,” Miravite said.

They must comply with the sanitation requirements prior to being checked anew  by the CHO, Miravite added.

Because of this, the OIC City Health Officer also ordered 32 sanitary inspectors of the city to check on other food establishments.

She also reminded that food establishments must be responsible.

“El diatun food establishments, tiene kita requirements tan follow si ta hace kita coneste nohay kita mucho findings embuenamente el corrida del business. You also have a name to protect so man ayudahan kita,” Miravite said.

Unsanitary food may lead to health hazards such as cholera, food poisoning, and Acute Gastroenteritis. (R.G. A A. Go)
