Barangay and police officials arrested a 73-year-old Japanese national in Guiwan yesterday for allegedly killing his Zamboangueña wife last December.

A police report identified the suspect as 73-year-old Kiyoshi Niida y Hana, a Japanese national from Hokkaido, Japan and currently residing in Callejon Drive, Guiwan.

The suspect was arrested by police and barangay officials led by Putik Barangay Chairman Jerry Perez during law enforcement operations along the Maria Clara Lobregat Highway in Putik.

The suspect has a standing warrant of arrest  issued by Branch 33 of the Regional Trial Court.

Niida is reportedly a suspect in the murder of his Zamboangueña wife, Jeneliz Curambao Niida, last December 21 along Guiwan highway.  (Dan Toribio)
