Eight policemen of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) under the Patrol Mobile Group are now facing criminal  and administrative cases in relation for the disappearance of the 10 trucks loaded with undocumented imported rice and sugar that were apprehended last week Tuesday, April 10,2018 at Baliwasan Seaside private wharf.

To recall, the 10 trucks loaded with smuggled rice and sugar went missing after the apprehension even though some eight policemen belonging to the City’s Patrol Mobile Group were assigned in securing the said trucks.

While on the custody of the eight cops, the 10 trucks were driven out of the wharf and eventually went missing.

This prompted the ZCPO officials to immediately disarm and also relieve the eight cops from their post and placed them under investigation.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Vincent Neri Ignacio said that the eight local cops are now facing criminal and administrative charges for dereliction of duties.

Sr. Supt. Ignacio assured that the police are still conducting deeper probe on the incident as he also stressed that those involved cops will be given the opportunity to answer the charges filed against them.

“There is something conspiracy on it? Paano nila pinaalis yung sampung truck. May due process naman dito. Kung ma found-out na involve sila sa illegal ma di-discharge sila o matanggal sila sa serbisyo,” Ignacio stressed. Allen Abastillas
