16 injured in vehicular mishap PDF Print E-mail

Sixteen family members, including the van driver, were injured when the vehicle they were riding on fell into a ravine along the Cabaluay portion of Maria Clara Lobregat Highway last Saturday noon.

Investigation showed that a Toyota Hi-ace van driven by Bashier Salahirun y Taha, 49, fell into a ravine at around 12:30pm.

Police said that the vehicle came from Cotabato City and was heading towards the city proper when the driver fell asleep while the vehicle was in motion.

The vehicle ran straight towards the ravine resulting to the mishap.

The passengers as well the driver sustained injuries in the body and were taken to the hospital onboard ambulances.

Police identified the fifteen passengers as Karim Otohalih, 48, married of Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte; Asinin Otohalih, 54, married, of Talisayan; Rayam Otohalih, 52, of Talisayan; Samira Otohalih Tarang, 45, married of Southcom Village, Calarian; Hadji Sapie Otohalih, 73, married of Calarian; Rahina Otohalih, 74, married of Calarian; Sitti Riza Naing, 11, of Southcom Village, Calarian; Amira Tarang, 8, of Soiuthcom Village, Calarian; Dham Otohalih, 35, married of San Roque; Hiyta Arasad Otohalih, 31, of San Roque; Ching Naing Otohalih, 27, single,  of San Roque; Bibing Otohalih, 35, married of Baliwasan; Mujir Otohalih, 35, married of Baliwasan; Lava Otohalih, 40, married of Southcom Village, Calarian and Basher Otohalih, 35,  married of Southcom Vilage, Calarian.

The vehicle was temporarily impounded at the police station. – Dan Toribio
