Two electric posts toppled down after their cable wires were dragged by a small truck along Corcuerra Extension yesterday morning.

Two transformers of the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (ZAMCELCO), streetlights and other utility cables were damaged as a result of the mishap.

Zamcelco linemen went to the place of incident to repair the damaged posts after a power outage affected several buildings in the area.

Witnesses said that an Isuzu Elf truck driven by 24-year old Zharief Hassan y Sara was passing by the area at 5:35 yesterday morning when the truck hit dangling cable wires.

The truck, which kept on running, dragged the cables, causing two posts to topple down.

No one was hurt during the incident.

Last Saturday, a truck also dragged cable wires causing a post to nearly topple down along Alejo Alvarez Street.

Police are conducting an investigation on the damages involved and the culpability of the driver.  (Remus Ong)
