Mayor Celso Loregat Friday said the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in the City is “functioning well” and that its officials are closely coordinating efforts with the City government.

The mayor said this in an interview together with new LTO Chief Virginia Torres moments after the latter paid him a courtesy visit in City Hall.
Torres is in Zamboanga City for a series of activities. She is here for the second time around.
Torres called on the chief executive in City Hall Friday afternoon together with her head executive assistant Menelia Mortel, LTO-9 Regional Director Atty. Aminola Abaton and other officials.

She said she is in the city to conduct seminars for LTO enforcers on guidelines and requirements for motor vehicles, Republic Act No. 8749 or the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999, among others.

Mayor Lobregat said the LTO in Zamboanga is doing well in its operations citing his experience when he renewed his driver’s license recently.
“So far, ok naman. No problem,” the mayor affirmed when asked to describe the LTO’s performance in the city during the interview.  — Richard Aliangan/City Hall PIO
