A 28-year-old man was killed while his four-year-old son and brother were wounded when a City Council employee ran berserk and fired his gun in Baliwasan before midnight last Friday.

Killed was Roderick Cuartocruz y Pakar, married. Wounded was his son Juric, 4, and his brother Marlon Cuartocruz, 26.
City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo identified the gunman as Roque Cadiz, 53, of Star Apple Drive, Baliwasan, and a staff personnel of one of the city councilors.

The incident happened while Cadiz was already off duty.
The victims sustained bullet wounds in their body and were taken to the hospital where Roderick expired while undergoing treatment.
A police report disclosed that Cadiz went wild when an unidentified man had earlier stabbed and wounded his brother.

Cadiz, armed himself with a .45 caliber pistol and started shouting and challenging the suspect to come out and fight with him. He loaded his gun and opened fire hitting the three victims who were also in the vicinity.

Ayala Police Station chief Supt. Hado Edding, who was passing San Jose Road near the place of incident, responded immediately and arrested to Cadiz.
Cadiz was detained at the central police station and was taken to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for paraffin and ballistic examinations.
