A policewoman was killed while her companion was wounded in what is suspected to be a job-related gun attack along Star Apple Drive in Barangay Baliwasan last Thursday night.

The fatality was identified as PO1 Rosalyn Bernardo Macapili, 33, single and assigned at the Sta. Maria Police Station.

Macapili’s companion, LinethTuballa y Intong was wounded in the gun attack.

Shortly before 11 p.m., Macapili and Tuballa were disturbed by the sounds of stones being thrown at their house.

The two went outside to verify and were met by a volley of bullets from the firearm of a still unidentified assailant.

The gunman hurriedly left the place after executing his mission.

The victims were rushed to the hospital but Macapili was declared dead on arrival.  Tuballa was confined for treatment.

Police recovered the spent shells and slugs from a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Investigators are looking into a work-related issue as the possible motive behind the crime.  (Dan Toribio)
