Thousands of voters turned up at the polling centers since early yesterday morning to vote for their choice of leaders in the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan.

Voting was generally peaceful but marred by complaints of election irregularities.

Polling centers were open to accept voters from 7am until 3pm.

Some voters initially complained about their names not being in the list of voters.  Some also questioned the need for a voter’s ID as required by some members of the Board of Election Inspectors (BEI).

Later however, reports have surfaced on alleged irregularities in some precincts.

In barangay Talon Talon a barangay tanod was spotted inside the school, an act which Comelec reportedly prohibits.

In barangay Sta. Catalina,  there were allegations of the presence of flying voters, reports that the BEI claims to have addressed.Rumors of vote buying have been reported but have remained unsubstantiated.  (Remus Ong)
