The Commission on Election (Comelec) has already started the releasing of honorarium for election poll workers early yesterday morning and expected to finish the it by next week.

Comelec Zamboanga City District I election officer Atty. Stephen Roy Cañete said in an interview that they have already released a total of 4,044 DBP cash cards.

According to Cañete, they are doing the releasing by schedule. For today, the scheduled cash releases are intended for those BEIs who served in the barangays of La Paz, Sinunuc, Talisayan, Maasin, Limpapa, Sinubung, and Sta Maria.

"Ya ase kita schedule cay hende kita pwede man accommodate muchu hente," Cañete explained.

The chairman will receive an honorarium of P6,000 and a travel allowance of P1,000 while the member and poll clerk will receive P5,000 honorarium and a p1,000 travel allowance.

However, tax will be deducted for chairman in the amount of P350 while the deduction for the member and poll clerk is P300.

The Comelec officer also assured that the cash cards given were already loaded with the corresponding amount.

These workers served during the recently concluded Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) election last May 14. (R.G. A A. Go)
