Operatives of the Dipolog City Police Office arrested a radio announcer in an anti-drug operation carried out in Barangay Sta. Isabel, Dipolog City at dawn last Sunday.
Arrested was Genesis Ajero, 40, married, an announcer of a Dipolog radio station.

A police report disclosed that the policemen confiscated from Ajero’s possession 32 small plastic packs containing suspected shabu, a cellphone, a P500 bill used as marked money in the operation and P4,512,  allegedly earnings from shabu peddling.

Police said that Ajero had earlier been placed under surveillance by policemen after receiving information about his illegal activity.
After gathering substantial information by intelligence operatives, a combined force of DCPO, Regional Public Safety Battalion 9 and Team David immediately mapped out a plan to arrest the Ajero.

A police undercover agent was sent to buy two small sachets of shabu from Ajero who later gave the police team the signal to arrest the radio announcer.
The arrest was reported to have been witnessed by a a representative from the Department of Justice, Elmer Elmedulan, a media man, Dioscoro Endad and  a barangay chairman.

After the arrest, Ajero was brought to the Dipolog Police Station where he was detained pending the filing of charges against him. — Noning R. Antonio
