The Civil Registrar of Isabela City, who is also a well-known strategist of a powerful political clan, was shot dead yesterday morning by still unidentified gunmen just a few meters away from the PNP Special Action Force detachment in Barangay Eastside, Isabela City.

The victims were identified as Jordan Guerrero Juaini, Isabela City Civil Registrar, and Basser Abdullah, Juaini’s driver.

The two victims were on board their vehicle along Rojas Avenue when motorcycle-riding gunmen ambushed and shot them.

Juaini sustained gunshot wounds in his neck which caused his death.  Abdullah escaped unharmed.

He was recently appointed Local Civil Registrar of Isabela City by Mayor Al-Qaid Akbar.

Authorities immediately established checkpoints in major intersections after the incident which caused traffic congestion.
