Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Carlito Galvez presided in the commemoration of the Philippine Air Force Marawi Air Campaign held yesterday morning at the Edwin Andrews Airbase (EAAB) in Barangay Sta Maria.

F50 fighters and Bronco planes showed their air combat flying skills to a crowd composed of top military officials and other stakeholders.

In his message, Galvez cited the importance of the air assets of the Philippine Air Force in liberating Marawi City from Maute terrorists.

“Without you, the men and women and pilots of the Philippine Air Force,  our soldiers will die in number because of the heavy fortified fortress of the Maute Isis terrorists,”  Galvez said.

He described the Air Force personnel as committed warriors for peace and development.

Galvez thanked the Air Force personnel for their commitment and dedication to their mission, a component part of liberating Marawi from the clutches of the terrorists.

Philippine Air Force (PAF) personnel were also given awards for their heroism, bravery and gallantry.  (Allen Abastillas)
