Woman suffers heart attack in front of store Print

Policemen tried to save the life of a 52-year-old woman who suddenly collapsed along P. Lorenzo last Friday.

Police rushed the woman to the hospital but she was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.

A police report said that around 5:17 p.m. Mariam Muntala y Uga, married of Saluping, Tabuna Lasa Municipality in Basilan collapsed and tumbled near the Mino Box Store along P. Lorenzo Sreet.

Policemen who were then conducting mobile patrol around the city proper passed and responded after they received information about the woman’s sudden collapse.

Policemen hurriedly rushed Muntala to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment but the attending physician pronounced her dead.

Based on the medical report, Muntala’s cause of death was initially due to cardiac arrest.

Policemen who brought Muntala to the hospital also turned over two gold rings and P41,000 cash to her brother identified as John Muntala y Uga, 41.

The cadaver was taken to their place for burial services in Islamic Rites. (Dan Toribio)
