A beauty salon owner was abducted by gunmen in Poblacion, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay last Sunday night.

Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Lt. Col. Randolph Cabangbang identified the victim as Luisa Galvez Morrison, 34, wife of a Scottish national, a resident of
Nizorecom Subdivision, in Barangay Magdauo, Ipil and owner of the RL Beauty Salon.

Cabangbang said the incident took place around 7:20 p.m.
A military report said that the gunmen dragged Morrison to a Multicab van with plate No. 791.
Cabangbang said the kidnappers’ van sped towards Barangay Timex.

A hot pursuit operation was carried out by the police and military resulting in the recovery of the get-away vehicle in the vicinity of Barangay Timex. The van was set afire.

The kidnappers intentionally burned the van after they transferred Morrison to another vehicle that sped towards Brangay Katipunan.

It was learned that Morrison had worked in Malaysia for several years  as overseas worker and recently came home to put up a business —  a beauty salon— in Ipil.
Cabangbang said the police and military were still on hot pursuit operation for the possible rescue of the victim and the arrest of the kidnappers. — Dan Toribio Jr.
