A store owner landed in hospital yesterday after his .38 revolver accidentally went off hitting him in the stomach while he was allegedly sleeping inside his store.

Police identified the victim as Ronald Alejandro, of legal age and a resident of Cabaluay, east of this city. He was rushed to a private hospital after sustaining a serious gunshot wound in the right portion of the stomach.

Police investigators disclosed that the victim allegedly was able to squeeze the trigger of his .38 revolver while he was half asleep inside his store at past 6 a.m.

Investigators said they were able to recover an empty shell fired from the .38 revolver including the revolver itself at the store of the victim during an ocular inspection at the scene of the incident.

Authorities are still determining whether the victim has gun license for his revolver.

Meanwhile, police report said that Alejandro is already recovering from his gunshot wound in the hospital.-Dan Toribio
