Carnapped luxury vehicle recovered by police in Isabela City, Basilan Print

Police operatives have recovered on Tuesday a carnapped Toyota Fortuner in Isabela  City, Basilan province .

Highway Patrol Group-9 case officer Senior Inspector Mervin S. Claret disclosed that during a joint operation with the Regional Maritime Unit-9, PNP Special Action Force and Provincial Police Office troopers flagged down the suspected carnapped Toyota Fortunner, color black model 2015 and with plate number BAA 9953 along National Highway of Isabela City.

Claret added that when the troopers checked the records of the unit thru the Motor Vehicle Management  Information System it shows that the unit is under in the stolen/alarm status under number 2018-0205-004. It was reported thru HPG Camp Crame by the owner identified as Manny Salbay of Sta. Rosa Laguna. He reported to the HPG that his Toyota Fortunner was nowhere to be found on February 6,2018 at Jaguar St. Manuoy Dos Las Piñas City.

The driver identified as Hasim A. Amalyn, a resident of Manga St. El Grande Bacoor Cavite City, when asked for the records of the luxury vehicle failed to present any legal document to prove his ownership.

Thereafter, authorities decided to impound said vehicle in HPG-9 Office pending further investigation on the case. -Allen Abastillas
