The forum about substitute bill 6475 or the Basic Law for the Autonomous Region in the Bangsamoro last Saturday drew various reactions from participants.

Most of the attendees reportedly wanted to be clarified on the bill which had been approved by the House of Representatives last week.

A walk-in resident named Federico Asuncion, a local businessman, said that he heard over the radio about the forum,so he decided to personally appear to be informed about the truth which for him affects his life as a Zamboangeño.

"Ya atende yo cay querre gat yo sabe el verdad aserca este asunto, porcausa cay manada maga storya ta sale que malo para na ciudad, Ahora ya oi yo cay tupao gale el movimiento de Congressman Lobregat, ya entende yayo," Asuncion said.

Asuncion is referring to the abstention vote of First District Congressman Celso Lobregat which had been the object of criticisms by the opposite camp.

Liga ng mga Barangay President Jerry Perez said that the Barangay officials like him attended the forum in order to be fully informed about the issue.

"Bien tormento entende si hinde tu oi buenamente. Tormento tamen si man pataka kita conversa kabar nuay kita basehan.Ta man misled kita na hente," Perez said.

Former City Councilor Atty. Melchor Sadain explained that Congressman Lobregat's position on the BBL is a political strategy in order to protect Zamboanga City's interest because as a veteran politican Lobregat also has to telegraph the moves of the bicameral committee who will approve the BBL Law.

Councilor Mike Alavar said that this is the moment of truth as some quarters had been questioning the integrity of the solon.

"El malo con el mga critico de Congressman Lobregat, pataka lang sila tan cuento sin basehan.  Ignorance and little knowledge is very dangerous.  Era aquel mga bashers, debe ya atende con el BBL open forum para sila mismo pwde pregunta con el congresista cosa sila querre sabe," Alavar said.

In an interview with newsmen after the forum, Lobregat was seen overwhelmed with the response of those who found time to attend the gathering despite the short notice and the bad weather at hand.

"I was surprised with the overwhelming attendance.  I was not expecting that we will reach more than a thousand in attendance that very day, meaning a lot of our constituents wanted to hear the truth about this controversial issue, not only from the minds of those bashers- “Sabiondos.” Lobregat told newsmen.  (Bhong Simbajon/RMN News)
