Man killed in shootout with cops PDF Print E-mail

A 40-year-old man was killed in a shootout with policemen in Barangay Talabaan last Monday night.
Police identified the fatality as Nuib Abubakar y Aluluh, married, of Bankhouse, Taluksangay. He sustained bullet wounds in the buttocks and right foot and was taken to the hospital.

A police report disclosed that policemen based in Taluksangay Police Action Center received an information from some residents that Abubakar was armed with a handgun and roaming the vicinity of Talabaan and Taluksangay.

Acting on the information, policemen rushed to the place and spotted Abubakar riding on XRM motorcycle with plate number 3982-LJ at Zone 5.
Abubakar opened fire on the lawmen that triggering a brief shootout.

A back-up team from the Culianan Police Station and operatives of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company led by Supt. Diomarie Albarico arrived at the shootout site and saw Abubakar lying on the ground with bullet wounds in the body.

Policemen surrounded and arrested him.Recovered at the scene were a .45 caliber pistol with magazine, 16 spent shells, two live ammunition and nine spent shells of M16 rifle, one magazine of .45 caliber pistol loaded with eight bullets and an XRM Honda motorcycle.

Abubakar was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center where he expired while undergoing treatment.
The recovered items were taken to the Culianan Police Station for proper disposition. — Dan Toribio Jr.
