The Land Transportation Office-9 (LTO-9) has started to implement the Oplan Balik Eskwela last Monday, June 4.

The program, which aims to minimize traffic congestion and attend to the safety of students and parents, will end on June 15.

LTO-9 Assistant Regional Director Manuel L. Betaizar said that the program also focuses on the strict implementation of two laws aimed towards the protection and safety of children.

These are RA 10666, an Act Providing Road Safety of Children aboard Motorcyclesā€¯ and RA 10054 known as the Motorcycle Helmet Law.

Betaizar reminded parents who take their children on board motorcycles on the way to school to practice road safety for the protection of their children.

He explained that this is also the reason why the LTO has decided to undertake the program and strictly enforce the two laws. (Allen Abastillas)
