More than 60 families who were left homeless by a conflagration in Curuan last week received assistance from the Philippine Red Cross during relief operations held last Friday.

PRC Zamboanga City Chapter Officer-in-Charge Jethro Arichea together with First District Congressman Celso Lobregat distributed water containers, mosquito nets, hygiene kits, rice, mats and clothes to the fire victims.

All items distributed came from the PRC except for the rice which was donated by Lobregat.

Arichea said that the water containers and blankets came from Red Cross Korea.

Recall that on June 2, a fire started at the market site of Barangay Curuan and razed at least 15 structures in the area.

Victims expressed gratitude for the assistance.  (RGAAGo)
