An 18-year-old former drug suspect was shot and killed at an eatery in Barangay Mercedes last Saturday night in the latest incident of gun attacks perpetrated by riding-in-tandem criminals in the city.

Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 Information Officer, identified the victim as William Wee Toribio, single and a resident of Zone 3, Mercedes, Zamboanga City.

Galvez said that prior to the incident, Toribio was spotted at an eatery  along the junction of Calle Real and San Isidro streets in Barangay Mercedes at 10 p.m.

One of two unidentified suspects aboard a  motorcycle shot the victim twice which hit him in the left shoulder.

Toribio’s relatives brought him to a local hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
