To ensure that the benefit of the youth is always protected, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Cary John Pioc has vowed not to follow a “color coding” scheme at the city council which divides councilors into the majority and the minority.

Pioc is referring to a division between the majority and minority groups at the City Council, groups which have been known by the political colors of yellow and red.

"Hinde kita mira cosa color coding mira iyo si cosa debe para na maga jovenes cosa debe para na ciudad de Zamboanga," Pioc said.

Meanwhile, Pioc also outlined his list of priorities in the same interview:

Youth empowerment, health education, and more training and seminars for the youth.

He said that after he officially assumed office on June 30, he will meet all the SK Chairmen to listen to the problems of the youth in their  respective barangays.

As a nursing graduate, he also vowed to look into youth-related issues such as teen-age pregnancy and the increasing cases of Human Immuno-Deficiency Virus (HIV).

He also intends to help the youth by partnering with the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

"Man juntu juntu quita man ayudahan kita para na maga jovenes. Cosa na maga jovenes dale kita na jovenes," Pioc said.  (RGAAGo)
