B/Gen. Juvimax Uy named as “Adopted Son” of Lamitan Print

Brig. Gen. Juvimax Uy, the commanding officer of the 104th Brigade of the Philippine Army based in Tabiawan, Isabela City has been conferred with the title as an “Adopted Son” of Lamitan City.

The resolution declaring Gen. Uy as an “Adopted Son” of Lamitan City was unanimously passed by members of the City Council which was presided by Vice Mayor Oric  H. Furigay.

The adoption of Uy is all about of his numerous and valuable contributions to the stable peace and order and security in Basilan Province especially in Lamitan City.

The general is also cited for promoting strict security and order in Lamitan City, securing and helping the continuous holding of the Reaching Out Serving Everyone (ROSE) Health Caravan, the surrender of hundreds of Abu Sayyaf members, among others.

Mayor Rose U. Furigay with Vice Mayor Furigay and all the members of the City Council handed the Resolution and Plaque of Appreciation to Gen. Uy during the celebration of the 11th Founding Anniversary of the Lamitan City on Monday.

Uy, for his part, expressed his gratitude the people and the leaders of the city headed by Mayor Furigay.

“Ang gusto ko lang malaman niyo na gusto ko maging peaceful na ang buong Basilan. Kasi pag-umuuwi ako sa amin o mag-attend ng mga conferences o meeting ang tinatanong nila palagi ay kung peaceful naba ang Basilan. Ang sabi ko, ginagawa na naming lahat ang aming makakaya para maging peaceful ang buong probinsya. Salamat po sa lahat,” Uy stressed.-- Allen Abastillas
