LPG plant partially burned in Talisayan Print

A huge portion inside an LPG plant compound was gutted down by fire due to suspected electrical faulty wiring and leakage of some LPG tanks in BarangayTalisayan, west of this city at dawn yesterday.

A police report showed that around 2:45 a.m., huge flames were seen and powerful blasts were heard coming from the Prycegas Plant. The report added that some acetylene and oxygen tanks exploded due to the fire inicident.

Fire trucks from different fire substations of the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) along with policemen responded in the area where the fire fighters were able to put the fire under control after an hour.

Initial investigation showed that the possible cause of fire was an electrical faulty wiring and also the possibility of leaking from some LPG tanks.

However, no casualty was reported during the incident, police and fire investigators said.

The BFP estimated the damage to property at P1million. – Dan Toribio
