An irate nephew stabbed and killed his own uncle inside the Bagsakan Center, in Sta. Cruz, this city yesterday morning.

Police identified the fatality as Villamor Ramirez y Delos Santos, separated, a resident of Barangay Lumayang while the suspect who later voluntarily surrendered was identified  as Jeffrey Ramirez, married of Kaputatan, Barangay Putik.

Sta. Maria Police Station commander Supt. Mark Azur disclosed that the bloody confrontation occured past 3 a.m. and as per initial investigation it showed that Jeffrey was armed with a knife when he attacked his uncle who was resting inside a pedicab.

Jeffrey confessed to the police that he started stabbing his uncle with the intention to really kill him.

His uncle was killed on the spot after sustaining multiple stab wounds in the body.

Jeffrey left the place after the incident but later decided to surrender to Kagawad Edgardo Rosagaron of Putik. He was immediately turned over to the police.

Jeffrey told newsmen that he planned to kill his uncle as he believed that the latter had sexually abused his wife long time ago.

He added that at first he tried not to mind it as he even brought his wife to the province.

However, he claimed that his uncle kept on making verbal threats against him which prompted him to commit the murder.

The suspect is now detained at the Sta. Maria Police Station pending the filing of murder charge against him in court. – Dan Toribio
