The City Council has invited the two Zamboanga lawmakers to a dialogue on the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).

Councilor Miguel Alavar III passed a resolution during last  Tuesday’s regular session to  invite District 1 Congressman Celso L. Lobregat and District 2 Congressman Manuel Jose Dalipe on a dialogue on House Bill 6475.

The dialogue was scheduled for July 9, after the bicameral conference where the two houses of Congress are expected to tackle the measure.

Council members, however, agreed not to talk about the vote of the two lawmakers on the controversial bill.

Congressman Celso Lobregat abstained from voting while Congressman Manuel Dalipe voted against the proposed bill.

Lobregat explained through press releases that an abstention vote would allow him to sit in the bicameral conference to further discuss contentious issues included among the provisions of the BBL.  (RGAAGo)
