Noel M. Noche, head of the Land Transportation Office 9 Zamboanga City District Office, said yesterday that the  distribution of the  Pantawid Pasada card by his office to  beneficiaries has is 75 per cen completed.

According to Noche, the LTO regional office under Director Aminola P. Abaton. has been ranked No. 3 nationwide in the distribution of the fuel subsidy cards to beneficiaries.

He said his office has allocated a total of 1,610 cards and only 410 are still with them.
Zamboanga del Sur District Officer Emmanuel Barretto Sr and LTO Buug Chief Johan Macaombos reported that operators of public utility jeepneys in their area seem not interested on the fuel subsidy cards because they earn extra income from cargoes of agricultural and aquaculture products and food commodities in that province are affordable.

During the visit of LTO Assistant Secretary Virginia Torres in Zamboanga City last Friday, she  directed Abaton, Noche and all district officers in the region to continue informing the beneficiaries of the fuel subsidy being extended by the government to cushion the impact of the oil price hikes on the transport sector. — Allen Abastillas
