Two militiamen were injured when an unidentified man hurled a hand grenade which exploded at their checkpoint in Barangay Sumagdang, Isabela City last Tuesday night.

The victims were at the checkpoint at 9:20 p.m. when an unidentified man lobbed a hand grenade.

The victims were identified as Raylick Ramos y Reyes, 29, married of Bone Yawes, Lamitan City and Hakim Jaddu y Mandal, 35, married of Kamalig, Ungkaya Pukan Municipality.  Both are members of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit under the 19th Special Forces Company of the 4th Special Forces Battalion.

The victims sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police and military troops were still trying to identify the group behind the grenade attack.  (Dan Toribio)
