The suspect in the stabbing incident which wounded a member of the Philippine Marines surrendered to authorities yesterday.

The suspect, identified as 32-year- old Elimar Ramos y Bernas, was accompanied by his father, Elmer, when he surrendered at the Sta. Maria Police Station yesterday morning.

Elimar reportedly went into hiding in Lantawan, Pasonanca after allegedly stabbing and wounding 32-year-old marine Arjay H. Balaguer.

investigation disclosed that Balaguer was drinking with friends at a bar along Governor Camins Avenue last Wednesday when he was stabbed by Elimar, a waiter in the establishment.

Elimar claimed that he stabbed Balaguer after the latter got angry and slapped him.

After spotting a gun tucked in Balaguer’s waist, Elimar decided to stab the latter for fear that the Marine would shoot him.

Balaguer sought treatment at a local hospital after sustaining a stab wound in the right side of the body.  (Ely Dumaboc)
