The Intelligence personnel of the 3rd Scout Ranger Battalion (3SRB) immediately facilitated the initial custodial debriefing of the 3 returnees.

A simple surrender ceremonial program was held at the headquarters of the 3SRB in Barangay Campo Uno, Lamitan City, Basilan Province.

They were presented to newly appointed Joint Task Force Basilan Commander Colonel Fernando Reyeg, and witnessed by the following LGU executives of Akbar Municipality: Vice Mayor Ali Sali, SB member Abdul Halik S Yusop, Brgy Chairman Nuruddin M Nasirin of Upper Sinangkapan, and Provincial Board Member Faisal Salih.

“The ASG surrenderors came to a realization that they can go back to the folds of the law and start living a peaceful life with their families," said Col. Reyeg.

"This is a result of our continuing close collaboration with the LGU officials to convince these ASGs to lay down their arms,” he added.

The surrendered firearms and other war materials were temporarily brought to the 3SRB headquarters for documentation and safekeeping.

"The 3 ASG members decided to return to the folds of the law due to the relentless focused military operations conducted by JTF-Basilan that triggered the recent surrender of their other comrades including some of their leaders," said Westmincom chief ArnelDela Vega.
