Combined military and police elements conducted joint law enforcement operations in Sulu Province  to rescue Radsnalyn Asta, a six-year- old child who was forcibly taken by seven (7) unidentified armed men from  their residence at Sitio Palau Pinang, Barangay Himba, Tandubas, Tawi-Tawi Province last June 25.

Joint Task Force Sulu (JTFS) commander Brig. Gen Divino Rey Pabayo said that they received a report coming from the community  that the abductors and their hostage were sighted at Sitio Kambal, Barangay Pang, Kalingalang Caluang, Sulu.

The captors together with their victim fled to an unknown direction leaving behind three (3) high- powered firearms and war materials which includes the following: one (1) M16 with banana type magazine, two (2) M14 rifle with 3 magazines, and assorted military and police uniforms.

“Intensified pursuit and intelligence operations are continuously being launched by our troops and the PNP to track down the abductors and rescue the victim,” Pabayo said.

Pabayo said Navy troops maximized intelligence monitoring and alerted the naval task groups in all areas to pre-empt possible landing of the fleeing bandits and rescue Asta.

"We deeply sympathize with the family of the victim in the situation that they are in at the moment. Our troops and the PNP are doing their best to bring Radsnalyn back to her family," said WestMinCom chief Lieutenant General Arnel B. Dela Vega.(Ely Dumaboc)
