Two riding-in-tandem gunmen mercilessly chased and gunned down an Arabic teacher in front of his young daughter along Talon-Talon Loop last Tuesday night.

The victim was identified as Ibrahim Baguinda y Bakil, 34-years-old, an Arabic teacher and a resident of the Masjid Abubakar in Barangay Talon-Talon.

Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 Information Officer, said that the incident happened while the victim and his three-year-old daughter were travelling onboard their motorcycle towards Don Alfaro Street in Tetuan.

While passing by Talon Talon Loop, the victims were tailed by two unidentified persons wearing full-faced helmets, black masks and black jackets on board another motorcycle.

Upon reaching a pharmacy in the area, the back rider suddenly shot the elder Baguinda who was thrown to the ground together with his daughter.

The suspect then alighted from the motorcycle and continued to fire at the victim who was lying on the ground.

Baguinda sustained multiple gunshot wounds fired from a 9mm pistol and died on the spot while his daughter sustained injuries from the impact of the fall.

Police recovered 24 spent shells of a 9mm pistol from the crime scene.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the incident.  (Dan Toribio)
