Police Chief Superintendent Edwin De Ocampo, chief of Police Regional Office -9 for Administration, yesterday ordered OIC- City Police Director Allan Nazarro to exert his utmost best to solve the brutal murder of Sapa-Sapa Vice Mayor Hajdi Alrasid Mohammad Alih as soon as possible.

De Ocampo said that although there is no specific deadline given to Nazarro in solving the case, the PRO-9 wants that the city police office shall make certain that the killing of Vice Mayor Alih shall be given top priority

Nazarro said that as of the present the city police are currently reviewing the city’s security plan and will also create a task force to primarily investigate the case of the Vice mayor.

“We are doing everything to be able to solve the killing of the vice mayor and also the other shooting incidents in the city for the past weeks,” Nazarro told reporters in an interview.

The city police director also said that all the station commanders are also helping in the investigation on the vice mayor case.

Both De Ocampo and Nazarro are confident that in due time the city police can solve the case as long as they will receive valuable information from the local populace.

“The murder of  Vice Mayor Alih should be solved so that the families can be given justice,” De Ocampo stressed,

It can be recalled that Vice Mayor Alih was gunned down by riding-in- tandem gunmen while he was in his car together with some family members and a security escort at a busy intersection in Gov. Alvarez Street during rush hours in this city last Wednesday evening. Police said that the suspects could have harbored envy and dislike on the official in their municipality. According to the reports, the gunman has casually walked beside the vehicle and fired four shots on the victim through the car door’s mirror fatally hitting the vice mayor. -Jan Rhey Gales, Junjuvier Akmad and Wamar Jamahali of WMSU interns
