Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Elpidio Z. De Asis Jr. yesterday thanked the US government through Ambassador  Harry K. Thomas Jr. for the blessing and inauguration of the PRO 9 Crime Laboratory Building yesterday afternoon.

De Asis said the construction of the building is an evidence of the partnership of the Philippine government and the US government, with the latter a consistent supporter of Philippine National Police.

De Asis said the crime laboratory is very essential to police works particularly in scientific investigation and technical examination aimed at solving crimes.
Crime Laboratory National Director Chief Supt. Lorlie N. Arroyo disclosed that the building is worth P14 million. It has big electricity generators.
Ambassador Thomas challenged the top officials and personnel of the PNP “to be a hero in your society and to be honest”

He added: “The government can provide buildings and equipment but it needs a hero and honest people to do the job. A hero can link and evidence to the truth. We have to pray to God so that we will not become a victim of syndicate. This crime laboratory will boost us to solve a crime. Criminals do not recognize the rule of law. This crime laboratory will help the gap in solving crimes. The US government is steadfast and committed  to support the Philippines and save the world,” Thomas said.

Guests during the inauguration were Mayor Celso Lobregat and Directorate for Integrated Police Operations Western Mindanao Director Felicisimo Khu Jr. — Allen Abastillas
