A man suspected of robbing a pension house was shot dead by a security guard along Governor Alvarez Street this city at dawn yesterday.

Rene Boy Carillo, a security guard assigned at the said pension house, was rendering  duty when he noticed the presence of  unidentified men inside the establishment.

Upon further inspection, Carillo spotted the three suspects who were already inside the pension house.

Carillo pulled out his 9mm pistol and fired at the men, hitting one in the cheek.

All three tried to flee but the injured suspect fell on the ground and died on the spot.

Two others were able to evade authorities.

The fatality was not immediately identified as no identification document was found in his possession.

Carillo surrendered to the police after the incident and is now facing charges.

It was learned that last Tuesday, there were some items stolen inside the pension house. (Dan Toribio)
