Two motorcycle-riding gunmen fired their guns repeatedly at a 40-year-old man, killing the latter in front of his teen-age son in Barangay Quiniput east of the city last Tuesday.

Chief Insp. Helen Galvez identified the victim as Alexis Mauleon y Esperat, 40 years old, married, unemployed and a resident of Barangay Quiniput.

Investigation disclosed that the victim was seated on a bench in front of a store meters away from his residence when  two motorcycle-riding gunmen fired several shots at him.

The victim’s 13-year-old son who was standing just meters away was horrified upon witnessing the murder of his father.

The suspects then sped away aboard their motorcycle towards the city proper.

Mauleon was brought to the Cristino M. Paragas Memorial Hospital but he succumbed to gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

Police recovered eleven (11) empty shells of a caliber .9mm pistol, nine empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol, four slugs of caliber .9mm pistol and a slug of a .45 caliber pistol.

Police are looking at personal grudge as a possible motive.  Investigation is still ongoing as of presstime.  (Dan Toribio)
