PAGADIAN CITY – Mayor Samuel S. Co expressed hope that the hosting of Pagadian City of the 20th Mindanao Business Conference will put the city in the Philippine map.

Speaking before the crowd of corporate businessmen and women from Mindanao, Co said in his message during the opening of Trade Exhibit at the City Commercial Center (C3) said for so long, a time now.

“Pagadian was simply lying in the corner. It even seemed not part of the Philippine map. Except for being the capital city of the province of Zamboanga del Sur. It is known for no other fame, much more for any business opportunity,” Co said.

Co said “a dream for development and grandeur is illusion if it remains in the mind forever. Yet, a dream for development and grandeur is a seed of success if it is freed from the mind then make it work without reservations and make it win without hesitations. I find your presence the exemplary realization of this.”

The chief executive said yesterday “we ventured on a dream of making Pagadian becoming the ‘Little Hongkong of the South’ and making its people just a step lower than angels.”

“You challenged me to take the first step to business opportunity. Tomorrow as you may come again, you shall witness this dream coming true. Pagadian will be in the map – not just a humble city, but a city to live, to behold and hope for,” Co assured the public.

Co admittedly said that at first, he even doubted to sponsor a big and grand business conference.

“Truly, it took me a lot of guts, reservations and self-esteem to sponsor big event like this but with your presence it has signified that we made it,” Co added.

He thanked the Department of Trade and Industry for spearheading the trade exhibit, as part of the line-up activities of the 20th MinBizCon saying that the event for once in a lifetime will surely bring fame and glory to the city.

Thirty five exhibitors have participated the trade exhibit in the 2nd floor of the C3.
