Highway Patrol Group-9 (HPG-9) personnel in Zamboanga Del Norte were able to recover two suspected carnapped vehicles during their series of anti-carnapping operations at the port of Pulauan.

Senior Inspector Incencio P. Jamolod, HPG-9- Zamboanga Del Norte chief, identified the motor vehicles as a 2017 black Toyota pick-up with temporary plate number 133603;  and a 2013 metallic brown Mitsubishi pick-up with  plate number YGL 351.

Jamolod said that both vehicles were seized after its drivers were apprehended for traffic violations.

A thorough check at the Motor Vehicle Management Information System showed that both vehicles are included in the Wanted/Alarm list for stolen vehicles.

The Toyota pick-up truck is reportedly owned by a certain Joseph Ramos of San Pedro, Laguna.  It was included in the list for the owner’s alleged failure to pay the amortization through bank financing.

Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi pick-up vehicle’s driver was identified as a certain Lor de Jesus from Daro-Daro, Dumaguete City.  The vehicle was reported missing by a financing company.

The two vehicles are now impounded at the HPG-9 headquarters in Zamboanga del Norte.  (Allen Abastillas)
